The Wizard of Oz: Dress Rehearsal #1

Today, we had our first dress rehearsal, and oh God that was intense. Running around with makeup removers and rhinestones and lipsticks is not an easy job.

Cassie (Wicked Witch) did an AMAZING job and got the laugh just right! Same with Emily (Glinda) and the "Glinda voice". We had to be quick, because like I said before, Wicked Witch, Glinda, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion are all played by people with double roles as Miss Gulch, Auntie Em, Hickory, Hunk, and Zeke, respectively. The Wizard/Professor Marvel and Oz Gate Guard/Uncle Henry are also double casted, but they don't have any makeup changes.
We also ran into a couple of mishaps. Cassie's green face paint wasn't going on evenly. I read online that it goes on better with a damp brush/sponge, so I'm gonna try that out at tomorrow's rehearsal. John's silver face paint for the Tin Man wasn't going too well, either, so we just used wet silver eyeshadow. After he got on stage, I realized that the paint was completely water activated.
So, we're 4 days to opening night, and this is my first time working on such a big production. Hopefully, we'll be able to perfect everything by the time Thursday night comes around!
