Jenna Rix gets "greenified" into Elphaba Thropp.
So, my friend, who was cast as the Wicked Witch of the West, had to drop out of the show due to health issues, so she was recast. It won't be as much fun, but I'll still enjoy it. Recently, I've been discussing the Witch's makeup with Stephanie, the sort of "head" of our theater program's Hair and Makeup crew. We're thinking of doing basically what they did in Wicked. We will have to go fast, though, because she has to go from Miss Gulch to the Witch in like 10 minutes. I'm still not too sure about Glinda, because she was double-casted as Auntie Em and Auntie Em has to come back in the end.
So, yeah, opening night is a week from today and we're not done painting the sets yet. PANIC MODE. I have to go back to school from 6-9 everyday, 1-5 on weekends, and next week, the week of the show (which is referred to as "Hell Week"), is 3-9 everyday. Wish me luck!
